Wow, what a crazy gtx 480 overclock. How are you getting that much voltage out of afterburner? I can only go to 1.138?

He's on water I believe, hence the amazing OC's.

Really impressed by the GTX 465 results here. If the rate of unlocking this card is something like unlocking cores on the AMD Phenom II chips, I'm pretty sure that this card might actually trigger the 8800GTX effect once again.

Even without unlocking, this card OC's like a monster.

(P.S. Not taking anything away from the 5850/5870 though, they are amazing cards, and have already proven themselves over the extended period of time when Fermi wasn't even here yet)

Still doesn't explain the added voltage.

BTW, how do you get to 1.149..??

When I try that, it goes back to 1.138.. Its like it has set voltages or something.. It does that at lower voltage settings as well.. Like if you try to set it at 1.090, it will go back to 1.088..

See here: http://www.overclock.net/nvidia/7097...ng-thread.html

You need the overvoltage BIOS.

I can see what v-spec has done here, pretty impressive stuff. I read a couple of reviews of the GTX465 and they were not really very flattering. It looked like the price point the gtx470 should have been released on.
It looks like a great overclocker & with unlocking. But I would stick with a 470 for the same reason I went 5870 and not 5850.
I always seem to get cards that just don't want to overclock lol.

I'm going to be doing the 465 locked results here soon I guess. I'm not sure if I'm going to go through the trouble of formatting my results in pictures b/c it takes me awhile and I don't have that time today. Though I will put min's and averages if I have them.

Not really...looked up average store prices in Ireland, a Toxic 2GB 5870 is 520, 2GB Vapor X is 507$ There. Still quite high, and you guys have that b.s. VAT tax.
http://www.elara.ie/products/results...archBtn=Search
Price-vs-price in general...you can find the GTX 480 right up there with 2GB or "high-end" 1GB 5870s (MSI Lightning) etc, and the 480 will smoke either one.
