Price-vs-price in general...you can find the GTX 480 right up there with 2GB or "high-end" 1GB 5870s (MSI Lightning) etc, and the 480 will smoke either one.
Your comparing cards with double RAM, which often adds another 100+
I am talking about vanilla all the way.(WHICH I THOUGHT WOULD HAVE BEEN OBVIOUS)
Stop trying to make a stupid arguement, I think I know the prices here, you know, living here and all. FYI nobody in their right mind would buy from that shop, prices are not in tune at all.
I seen a 9800GT going for €255 a few months ago.

You should put the comparisons next to one another, so both the vantages, both the 03's etc. Gets annoying having to keep scrolling up and down to compare.

+rep for effort though!

I'm comparing cards that compare with the GTX 480...the 5870 has 1GB stock, and the GTX has 1500+, signicantly more "appropriate" to compare it the 5870 2GB, which still loses. So there's my point, 5870 2GB @ 507$ gets whooped by a 1500MB GTX 480, that's all. The normal 5870 1gbs choke out @ high reses due to the lack of vram.

Will update vantage shortly. However, I predict a 5870 victory in vantage fairly easy.

Quick synopsis of the results:

Vantage - predicted 5870 win easy
3dmark03 - 5870 win
Crysis - 5870 win
FarCry 2 - 465 locked win
Dirt 2 - 465 by a hair (pretty much even with the 5870)
Hawx - 465/5870 tied one another
RE5 - 5870 win
SF4 - 5870 win

Vanilla locked 465 @ 900/1100

Those are still very nice results, although they don't seem that impressive anymore at 352 shaders . However it is within range of an HD 5870 @ 1070MHz.
Wow... those are pretty amazing results! I'm guessing that Unlocked 465's in SLI would also own 5870's in crossfire, for about half the price?
