Hi Guys

Thanks for the suggestions

I can not go with the Noctua NH-D14 as my heat sinks are in the way of the cooler.

I will try the H50 with a reverse. Pulling air for outside and pushing it out thru the inside fan to be expelled out the top.

I thought with the H50 you wanted it the other way? Oh well it appears you can teach old dogs new tricks.

It is interesting as the temps jump big when the voltage is increased from 1.35 to 1.4. It jumps like 10C using air. This is very strange.

I am using all Cool Master 230mm fans top, front, side with the following specs 700RPM 110 CFM High air flow - The LEDs are disabled via a mod switch to minimize heating. Except for the 120 fans used for the H50. (no LED on those)

I never tried the delta - but will buy a couple and see how they performed.

thanks for the suggestion

I played the game for 4 hours and i am writing you this message because my computer is still working. The heat of the board is reading 31F. The CPU is at about 29F.
Apologies for the assisted thread jacking mate, sounds like you nailed the problem with the PSU, I don't suppose you're in Australia? I've got a 700w and a 900w I'm happy to contribute if it'll help...

Yeah I've heard much regarding the scaling issues but I found they consistently out performed the old 4870x2 by a minimum of 10%. Though compared to the latest offerings they're all but wandering around with a walking frame and a confused expression swearing at the couch.

I can't really recommend anything myself as my Air cooling history started and ended with the TRUE120Extreme, but this link may help you: http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.ph...&limitstart=17

Pleasure mate, Yeah with those case fans you're a half dozen cranky marines and a pilot short of a chopper. The Delta's can be damn noisy but the Ultra HF and very HF have cfm's from around 150-230cfm the instructions even caution against turning them on unless they're bolted to something....

Are you referring to your ram heatsinks? According to this: http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=f...d=34&lng=en#14 , you can remove the heatsinks off the Dominators (yeah it sucks, I wouldn't remove the heatsinks if I have those memories).
Another question. How do you measure your temp? Since the core temps of the Thubans are a mistery for me, (this is my first week with my 1090T). I'm using this method to measure my temps, first I look for my CPU temp in the bios, let's say 33C, then I go to windows, start Core Temp, and my "core temp" reads are well below bios, and ambient , since that program allows to set an offset, I've put a 12C offset, to match the idle "core temp" read on windows with the temp that I took from the bios previously. Looking good so far.
This are my 1090T @ 4ghz w/ 1.45v + Noctua NH D14, with that method using the last Core Temp software:
Idle: 30 - 33C (depending of my room temp).
Full load: 45-47 (depending of my room temp).
Since it survived 6 hours of prime95, I think it's safe and fully stable.
If anyone have found another "temp measure" method, please coment.

Depends upon your case and how much money you want to spend. Generally, a good cpu cooler is the 212 it around $29US , the N520 is about $35US. The Frio is not bad but it about $57US and loud as hell when turn up all the way, plus it got to be done manually which is a pain (This can be easily solved by using a fan control but still). The Sych Mygen is not bad also. Once you are over $60, you might as well go with a H50 as they are only $75US

You also need to be concern about heat sink clearance with the cooler you select. The cooler weight may also come into play depending upon your motherboard. A lower quality MB may develop a bend or a warp due to the weight

Hope this helps

Hi Luk

How do you like the corsair 800D case? I was looking at one the other day and almost purchase it for a new client gaming built. I like the modular design that separates the components and creates separate cooling zones but thought that cabling might be troubling so I went with a HAF X.

Hey mate, the 800D is a fantastic case, surprised me how much I could fit in the damn thing. though with the GPU coolers keeping a lot of hot air in the case it needed a side window mod, so hole sawed for some extraction fans at the top and it's out on the bench now getting some inlets around VGA level. There's one or two shots of the build at it's present stage here if your interested, haven't uploaded the door mod yet though...
