Your rig is pretty crazy. Makes my sig rig look like crap.

It has cost way too much - and way over my original budget. I originally planned for £3k MAX. I suspect the bill has hit closer to £5k as I've been buying more things after the majority of the hardware arrived. For example, I just spent another £500 on 2x Samsung SyncMaster PX2370s.

Most of the cost is in the cpu and gpus. You're looking at easily £2k with just those 3 items. The wc loop added another £500 ish.

And it looks awesome, a very cool and well thought out build. Great work!
There are some temps around but they've not been under extreme load. Mostly some Folding loads etc.

There is also a 120rad at the bottom of the case in addition to the triple rad at the top. Overall it looks to be keeping temperatures within around 10c of ambient at idle. Add another 10c on for load. I spent a while planning the loop to try and get the best cooling for the space I had. I really didn't want to modify the case at the bottom to install a 240rad like a few people do. However, I believe for general gaming etc the temps are easily better than I get on my air cooled rig. I suspect the same will hold for loaded conditions.

The GTX480s are the major heat source and the 360 rad is directly after those in the loop. The loop goes like this:
Res -> directly connected to the 655 pump (with EK top) -> 120 XSPC rad -> GTX480 #1 -> GTX480 #2 -> XSPC 360 rad -> CPU -> res

The 120 rad only has the job to get rid of some of the cpu heat before it goes through the graphics cards. The 360 is for the graphics cards.

I will be moving the rig to my office tomorrow (it has been living in another room during the build). Just finished a complete rip out of the entire desk area and re-cabled it. These Samsung PX2370 monitors are sexy

Your sig rig makes my old machine look like a 486. I usually go totally crazy on a rig build. My old machine is like 5 years old now. Pentium D 3.2ghz iirc with 4gb ram and a HD4850. It is still a very good machine which is why I'm keeping it (and using it right now). However it was time for an upgrade.

The new monitors - As always, crappy pictures from my Android phone.

Samsung SyncMaster PX2370 - 1920x1080 - LED backlit

You can see the speaker cables, networking, monitor cables on the right along with the UPS power. That is where the new rig will live.

Monitor on the left is my old Iiyama monitor which is on the old machine.

Not enough desk space .. They only just fit on at the moment.

If the bookshelf wasn't there, I'd go upwards (although can't with these, no wall mount)

They're crazy light monitors though, I think I'm gonna break one because they're so thin!

Nice build man. This is nearly part for part what I have listed on my Newegg wishlist haha.

Out of curiosity, is there any reason why your GPUs are so far apart? Can you not have them side by side if they're under water? If I ever do get the chance to build a new rig, I was hoping to add in a sound card and a RAID controller, but that would suck if they wouldn't all fit.

It is a beautiful machine, I just haven't had the opportunity to really use it yet, which sucks majorly.

I put the GPUs in slots 1 and 3 because the manual specifically said that for 16x bandwidth for both gpus you should use those slots. I've heard people say you can do any slot combination but I didn't want to have to change it later IF that was incorrect. Also it allowed me to make the bottom pipe from the waterloop not have to bend through some horrible angles. Currently it is a straight line from the bottom rad into the graphics card.

I believe DorkSterr also uses 1 and 3 but he is aircooled with those gpus. I suspect the manual guide is assuming you're aircooling too so 1 and 3 is best for air.

I might add a soundcard to it later myself, however the onboard raid controller is fine for my needs.
