M4A89GTD or 890FXA-UD5

Ya title.

Asus 890GX chipset (SATA III, USB 3.0) 150$
Gigabyte 890FX chipset (SATA III, USB 3.0) 190$

I'm not planning to crossfire so the GX should do it.

This is gonna be my FIRST EVER build and planning to try and OC my 1055t to 4GHZ without burning my whole house.

Wich one is more USER friendly, build quality etc.

I'm planning to buy the GX because it's cheaper and I don't really need the FX features.

Help me ?

EDIT: Wait, the m4a89TD has a weird ****. under the CPU their is no heatsink. the GTD has one and the gigabyte board too. BAH?

That is a great board, I have the one with usb 3.0 and it is excellent. Very easy to understand and oc's well. I have used boards from both brands and you can't really go wrong with either. Go with the gx chipset though, that way since your a single card user, if your video card ever goes out, you can use the onboard video. That's what I do

both are quality makers. you cant be wrong with either.

fx for a better overclocker. or gx for a tight budget.

i would go with fx any time for a larger e-penis though.

The fx doesn't oc that much better than the gx. The asus 890gx board's base clock goes up to 350. I'd say that's pretty good.

Only get the fx if you want to run crossfire. Otherwise, it's e-peen and/or overkill.

I gotta say the Gigabyte. Its the board that I am using ATM and I am loving it. I didn't ever own the ASUS that you are looking at but my last board was an Asus and I think the Gigabyte has a better user friendly bios. (I also is relatively new to building computers)

Also, was looking at the layout and I know you said you were not going to go Crossfire but if one day you found a cheap card and wanted to try it out the SATA 6Gbs seem to be in an awkward spot. Cards are getting longer and you might run into a problem here.

Last point My 890FX -UD5 is wonderful. Getting it stable to 4Ghz's wasnt that hard at all and I am pretty much staying at what my sig is at now. Make sure you have a decent cooler to go along with the CPU. the 10**t run pretty cool compared to my old 955BE. You should fill out your system specs though so we can see what else is gonna make up the rig.

any way, wich one you will chose (fx or gx) do not buy gigabyte. they are having bad times with BIOS support.

also seekout for a biostar with 890fx

asrock deluxe3 is overpriced!

The FX chipset is great for dual card arrangement and USB 3 and Sata III.

The Gx Version doesn't have as much Bios
