Intel Celeron E3300 - Page 2

A dual-core Celeron would be an excellent upgrade from a P4, as long as her board supports it.

Alright i made my final decision and going to order everything Wednesday morning. Should have everything by next weekend.

Intel Celeron e3300
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819116264

Asus MB w/4 memory slots
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131650

and for the upgraded video card over my 4670, picking up a 5750 from best buy a week later. That should make my Secondary Dual core a beast

My question , can i OC the e3300 with that MB up to 2.7 without any issues?

yes, you should be able to easily hit 3.0, maybe even 3.5 before you start really having any problems.

nah i am not going that high, just something over my pentium d 805 which is stock at 2.6. i plan to maybe go up to 2.7 or 2.8 on it. I don't oc at all really, but this time i want to
i figure 2.7 or 2.8 will be the same as 2.5, meaning no pressure, no problems, same temps.

I want to keep that cpu and mb for the longest time you know.

how did your celeron E3300 build go ? .... im using the same cpu along with a asrock g41m-gs mobo.... and have just fitted a "cool-it eco alc(advanced liquid cooling)" cpu cooler .... i havent overclocked yes... as we speak speedfan reports a 30c idle temp... with load temps never reaching 40c.... perfect overclocking conditions...
what speed did you actually acheive...?

I am not using the Intel Celeron E3300 anymore, but the build went just fine. That CPU is a beast, and it ran games with ease. Strange to say this on this forum, but i don't OC. I leave things at stock.

I have these 2 computers now.

I don't build anymore, tried it once, was fun, but i like prebuilt rigs better. And then i add whatever i want to it. I am a gateway supporter smile.gif

Hey guys, i have this CPU running at 3.63ghz at the moment, but i was wondering if i could overclock it even more?
Voltage is at its default value, so if i have to change something like voltage or something like that, tell me. I am not very experienced in OC-ing. Motherboard:ASUS P5KPL SE

Try adding .1V to the CPU and try dropping the ram multiplier to the lowest to give you more headroom. I still have several E3200 laying around back when they were $30 including motherboard at Frys.
