Little lazy, Suggestions on SMP or GPU Folding? - Page 2

Once you have completed 10 WU's within the deadline and with a passkey set up you'll be eligible for bonus points. Different WU's have a different K factor which is how the bonus points are calculated. Here is a calculator where you can specify your TPF (time per fold) and it'll give you the amount of bonus points and PPD for that WU. Again this is only after you have completed the original 10.

Edit : At the rate you're going now if you're eligible for bonus points you'd net just over 59k after completion with a PPD of about 26.5k.

Completed WU 2683 in a little over 2 days, got 25403 points, and now am working on P2681. TPF is 30:49, PPD/Mhz is 2.895, and PPD is 11870.3 (all per HFM). Does this sound about right?

Any tweaks I could do to get more out of it?
Oh, also running CPU folding on a AMD Sempron 2800+ I have (single core). Only getting 100 ppd out of that, but hey why not? ;-)

You got 25,403 points for it? No bonus points...
11k ppd sounds about right... for now.
You would probably be better off folding 10 small SMP units without the bonus and then going to the bigadv units. But if you are set on doing it this way, 11k ppd is ok.
With the bonus points you could be getting > 25k ppd.
So it is up to you how soon you are eligible for the bonus points... a week and half of 11k ppd, or a day and half of small units and then 25k ppd after that.

I too fold on a single core processor. I figure if they have the work that needs to be done, and I have the hardware to run it on, I will help them out with their research. It finishes 1 every day or two, but every little bit of folding helps them.

Yeah, I added two smaller single core machines (my older Dell Laptop and my wife's AMD Sempron) to CPU folding, and I expect to put out 1 ever day from the Sempron and 1 every 2-3 days on the Dell. But I might wrangle my son's I7-860 to do some smp folding for me to up my WUs to get to 10 quicker. Thanks for the reply!
