(RESOLVED) OCed and Speeds Went Down

post #1 of 77

I hope someone can help me here.

This is my first try at OCing and I have put in these values which should give me an oc of 4.ooGHz but my speed has actually gone down. (see attached images)

Also as I side note I did not see anywhere to set my NB and SB voltage.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Advanced BIOS
CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E) = Disabled
CPU EIST Function = Disabled

MB Intelligent Tweaker(M.I.T.)
Robust Graphics Booster = Auto
CPU Clock Ratio = 8
Fine CPU Clock Ratio = 0
CPU Frequency = 4.00

Standard Clock Control
CPU Host Clock Control = Enabled
CPU Host Frequency = 500
PCI Express Frequency = 100
C.I.A.2 = Disabled

Performance Enhance = Standard
X.M.P = Disabled
MCH Frequency Latch = 400
System Memory Multiplier = Auto
Memory Frequency = 1333 - 2000 (I didn’t set this it’s just that way)
DRAM Timing Selectable = Manual

Standard Timing Control
CAS Latency Time = 7
tRCD = 8
tRP = 7
tRAS = 20
Motherboard Voltage Control
Load Line Calibration = Enabled

CPU
CPU Vcore = 1.24375
CPU Termination = 1.220
CPU PLL = Auto
CPU Reference = 0.760V Auto

MCH/ICH
MCH Core = 1.160
MCH Reference = Auto
MCH/DRAM Ref = Auto
ICH I/O = 1.570V

Everything else below this is on Auto.

In your BIOS, is there anything like "Cx state" "EIST" "Speed step" enabled in bios?

When I'm actually in the BIOS it says under the CPU Freq 4.00
I double checked the 500.

The EIST has been disabled unless there is more than one of them.

With my EP45-UD3P, when an overclock fails, it will set the fsb back to default but leave the multiplier at whatever you set it at... Since you're fsb is back at 333, it looks like your overclock failed and this has happened as well. You're currently trying to run your memory at 2000mhz, which is likely why it failed. Change the System Memory Multiplier from Auto to whatever gives you 1600 as the second number on the line below, 1333 as the first number is just what it's seeing from SPD.

Your Board is screaming @ 500 FSB right now you need to tune that down a bit
isnt the Q9550 a 8.5 or a 9X?.

More voltage. try at least 1.32 ( should be around 1.28 in Cpuz )

Thank you Bakageta! +Rep for you sir.

That got the oc working but man is it running hot. I'm running Prime95 now of inplace fft. 70C, 62C, 64C, 61C

I've posted before about that one crazy core and everyone tells me that's just the way the Q9550 is?!...

Yes, it is a 8.5x but I turned it down to 8x and then did the 500. Now I have it back at 8.5 and 471.
