(RESOLVED) OCed and Speeds Went Down - Page 2

How's your NB cooling? Also, at those FSB speeds, doesn't the grounding voltage (PLL) start to matter?
I also had a UD3P... well, it was a UD3R, which is identical except only 1 PCIEx16

I'd stick with 8x500, your board shouldn't have any problems running at a 500fsb, and you can actually get the rated speed out of your ram. At 471, you're going to end up underclocking the ram, or significantly overclocking it, since there's no easy multiplier for 1600. Your northbridge may run a bit hotter, but it shouldn't be high enough to worry, and there shouldn't be any temp difference on the cpu.

Also, your temps look ok for Prime95, gaming and most other uses won't push the cpu nearly as hard, so your temps will be a fair bit lower.

LOL it's not. As I was running the test TEST 2 failed. Not sure what that test is but it failed. The others will still going though.

Anyone have any ideas on what voltage that may be? I'm assuming it's a voltage deal but not sure which one to turn up.

Check out this post, it'll give you a good idea of what to mess with when testing with Prime95.

(edit)
Looks like large fft that you're running, and they say that tends to be northbridge/memory. Since your ram is at the rated speed, I'd go with northbridge voltage. You do have it rather low, at only 1.16v, I'd try it at 1.2v, and if that doesn't help, up to 1.3v.

Just to be clear I have a EP45T-USB3P so I don't know if that matters.

Also I'm embarrassed to say I don't know how to check the North or South Bridge temps.

I will run it back down to 8X and 500 FSB. I do have a smaller wc setup I basically took an H50 and ECO ALC and merged them together and added a 500lph pump into the mix.

I still don't know why Test 2 failed and the others were still going. I think it could be the Performance Enhancer setting I moved it back to Turbo and forgot so I may try putting that back on Standard.

I will also get you a list of my Voltages to have a look at since I changed those as well.

I appreciate all the help fellas.

It's not test two it's core 2.Usually only one fails when testing. It's considered an overall failure and back to the bios.

OK so I did tweak a few more things so I'll put the list back up with the new settings.

Two more things:

1. Am I correct in saying the the MCH/ICH is your N bridge settings?

2. I tried going back to 8x 500 FSB but It wouldn't boot like that. I tried a few different ways just couldn't get it to work. I'm sure a more experienced guy could but I'm lost.

I highlighted the things I just changed in Blue

Advanced BIOS
CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E) = Disabled
CPU EIST Function = Disabled

MCH is your northbridge, yes. I'd still bump that up, 1.2 is pretty much where I start from, and it took 1.3 to get mine stable. I also had better luck with PCIE at 100 instead of auto, but if auto works for you that's fine. Everything else looks pretty reasonable, if you're having issues at 1.3v MCH, you might try bumping the ram to 1.66v, or bumping the vcore one more notch.

I'm assuming your board only has 1.64 or 1.66v, which is why you don't run it at 1.65v, right? 1.66v should be fine on the memory here, the 1.65v max is more of an issue for i3/i5/i7, where the memory controller is on the cpu itself and not capable of more.

Hey Bakageta,

I really appreciate the extra effort.

I bumped the MCH to 1.2.
I was able to get to 8x 500FSP but I put the System Mem multiplier on 3.33D to get 1600 but it is reading as FSB 2000. There is an option I can go to and get 1500FSB. Would that be better/safer?

Yes, you are correct I don't have a 1.65V option.

Here's another screen grab.
