Dude, to compare to other scores. ATI cards can't do PhysX, so it would be like comparing a bicycle to a Ferrari.

Plus you can't validate your score online unless you disable PPU.

Edit: I'm not saying he can't run it with PhysX on, it is to compare to other peoples' scores.

If your worried about temps, the max safe temp on those cards is 105*C so your deff. fine.

Oh you're one of those people....

really my 470 reached 94C once cuz I upped the core voltage and every time you apply the overclock on XtremeTuner HD you have to double click on the fan controller on MSI and I forgot to but when I didnt hear the fan I stopped it right away. That was a scary moment...

there is no reason for that.

why would anyone want to lower their score of their gpu to meet the lower standards of other cards..

thats like buying a ferrari and then trading it for a bike... if you cant use what you paid for the beat the sh** out of other peoples vantage scores then why would you us vantage.... theres no reason..

when your gaming do you turn off physx to compare it to an ati card? nope... you use the damn feature because you get better performance from it and therefore IT IS BETTER because of that feature..

Don't complain to me. Blame Nvidia.

well my 5850 is terrible bottlenecked and it beats it in GPU score, PPU or not.

Not to bash your card or anything

its obviously much better since a cheaper card beats it... xD

actually i blame ati for making us nvidia users knock down our scores just because they dont have the same good features as us.

im actually an ati fan myself, but its still frustrating, and especially that ati users like yourself try to justify it..

Jesus man we/they want him to Disable PPU so that people without a Nvidia card can see how their's compare to his, not because we envy him or whatever, its because we want to see an apples to apples comparison not an apples to oranges comparison..... see its like this say person X is gloating that with his Nvidia card he can play Batman AA with PhysX on with 60 fps, but Person Y wants to see how good of performance his ATI card will get in comparison, now you cant compare those two since the ATI card will get on average about 11 fps with PhysX on, so Person Y would ask Person X to see what is frames are with PhysX off so that everyone can compare....yes i know thats a bad example

Or when people make threads about gaming benchmarks to compare scores normaly they ask you to put everything on the same settings with a lower resolution, normally 1440x900 or 1680x1050 because those are generally the most common resolutions, and since people with better monitors can to higher they can also do lower so that everyone can compare, understand yet?
