CoolerMaster GX????

Thread Starter
I just wanted to know if the cooler master gx power supplies are any good? I heard mixed responses from people about cooler master psu's in general. I was thinking about the 650w and 750w, they offer 5 year warrenty.

If you had to choose between the corsair TX650,TX750 and CM GX650, GX750 which would it be?

The prices for the CM psu's are more in my range than the Corsair ones.

rated at 25 degrees, stay away imo, they are just like the rest fo the junky cm psus.

They're mediocre, and can't do their rated wattage without ripple going out of spec. If you're running it at 50% load then they're fine, but if you're only running at 50% load (which I guarantee you will be) then you might as well get a quality 300-400W power supply.

The Corsair TX series aren't great, I'd rather pick the Antec True Power New 650/750 instead of the TX650/TX750. But the TX650 is a good SeaSonic S12 unit that's fairly reliable, and the TX750 is an okay CWT PSH. Not the best anymore, but solid. The CM GX series aren't even solid, they just suck. Apparently CoolerMaster hasn't realized that the oscilloscope has been invented for going on a hundred years now, because their testing lab doesn't even freaking have one.

In short, screw CoolerMaster. Really, don't even consider them. The Silent Pro series are the only decent PSUs they sell now, and due to their underspec'd +12V rails I can't even recommend them very often since their 700W should have been labeled a 550W.

Antec True Power New is the best bang for the buck, or if you want to go for a PSU closer to your actual power consumption the SeaSonic S12II units are quite good, or M12II if you want modular.
