Intel K Club & Discussion

-= K OVERCLOCK CLUB =-

This club is a work in progress. If you would like to be added to the list you need to post all the required info for the the spreadsheet along with a link to a screenshot of at least 20 linx/ibt runs on max. You also must have HT if applicable and all cores active.

Note: This thread was originally only for the i7 875k, but I decided to extend it to the newest members of the K series: i5 2500K/i7 2600K. I will be dividing the spreadsheet according to processor for direct comparisons between processors. I'm open to suggestions for the name of the club as well.

Don't forget to use the latest CPU-Z if you aren't already:

I almost pulled the trigger on one of these, after doing a bit of research reading reviews i decided to just stick with the 1366 platform. I didn't see anything impressive in the overall listings of OC's done. I think 4.0-4.2ish, however the benchmarks made me really lean towards it. The main factor why i passed it up was i don't like the 1156 platform (p55) due to its limits (pci-e bandwidth). Also most of the boards i though about getting with it seemed to lack all the new stuff, USB3.0, SATA 6gb.....

Sorry i don't have on to post for ya.. but i was sooooo damn close...

I know a lot of people bought these, maybe a club is in order?
Me too man, I have the 750 but there i7-875k's look amazing, and the price is good too, hoping i can pull 5ghz given you can have a 33x multi on this!

4cores/8threads too!

The 875K looks like a sweet processor, I would also like to see the OC's in this thread.

i was hoping to see some overclocks, but so far there is nothing. I still don't know if i should buy this processor or not.

There have been a couple posts over the last week, just search for 875k in the Intel CPU section. OC results seemed pretty bad for the two people attempting them. If I remember correctly one person was getting rid of his 875k.

Most of the reviews of this processor came in at about 4.1 ghz upwards of 1.3v. I think it's the exact same silicon as the i7 870, just with the multiplier unlocked. I doubt overclocking results will be much different.

What intrigues me about this unlocked CPU is the possibility of using more extreme versions of turbo boost to create a PC that's extremely light/low power when load is low, but can jump as high as needed for key tasks. I also like the idea of keeping everything else in spec while I max the CPU.

If only I could get to a Microcenter where they are supposedly $199.99... That would be a deal good enough to venture away from socket 1366.

This is what i have so far getting warm here so temps aren't so great and i don't have the best cooling currently. I had it running 3 hrs stable but will need to play around with the multi and bclk. Should i keep vdroop on or off? Currently i have it enabled. I have vcore at 1.275 in bios and vtt is at 1.075.

Edit: Added a new ss that just did 10runs of linx at 4ghz at 1.312v under load. Still unsure of keeping vdroop enable or disabled right now.

I've been reading about the same. I plan on picking one up though, mainly cause I'm bored. If it clocks well, that's great. If not, you'll hear about it .
