Your temps are good! 68deg full load in IBT.

Go further!

Isn´t that a nice way to overclock these new cpu´s, did you set it manual in the bios or did you push 4 at post to enable the "Turbo Unlocker" ?

It´s recommended to have the vcore at auto when you use the turbo unlocker together with the orther powersave function, so the vcore can follow the corespeed, 1,24 is what can expect with your setup.

Probably you have the stockcooler and then you can expect that high temp but that´s no problem because if you have the CPU TM Function enable it throttle down if it gets to hot.

I tried the turbo unlocker and I got +7,6,4,4 and it works just fine, it max out the vcore at 1,30 during load.
Clueless as far as what this Turbo Unlocker feature means!

Your MB doesn't have Turbo Unlocker. That's an Asus feature. Instead, install Real Temp 3.60 or later. Right-click on the Taskbar icon and in the context menu you will find Turbo Boost Limits... Select that and you can adjust your Turbo Boost.

I have my tb set to 30x from one to four cores, so on demand (LinX or OCCT/Linpack, for example) the chip runs up to 4GHz (134MHz BCLK x 30 = 4020MHz).

Any idea why my stock i7-875k with Hyper 212+ in a Corsair 600T is giving high load temps? I get just under 30 Celsius idle, and 60 under load which seems too high for OCing which is why I got the 875k.

Try to reseat the cooler. It should be lower even with just the stock fan.

Airflow. Your heatsink is no better than the airflow through your case. Those Corsairs are best for WC from what I've heard.

Make sure you are getting plenty of airflow. One way to check this is to take the side panel off your case and set a house fan to blow into the mb chamber from the front quarter. Test your temps. If they are acceptable than you know the problem is not in the heatsink's mounting.

An acceptable airflow setup is when there is no difference between temps with the side panel off (no house fan) and with the side panel on. A desired result is when your cpu temp goes down when you put the side panel on. That's what you want.

I meant to say 50 Celsius under load, not 60 . I took the side panel off and left it for 10 minutes and temperatures stayed the same. Guess I should reseat the cooler, which direction should I ideally have it facing with the 600T's top and rear fan both being exhaust?
As a 212+ owner, I suggest that you re-seat it according to the suggestion of the fine folks in this thread And use a quality thermal compound for the best temps possible. I use Arctic Silver 5, but I don't recommend it, use Arctic Cooling MX2 or MX3 if possible since it is good. The stock TIM is fine, but make sure to apply as stated in that post, it dropped my temps a good 3-5 degrees on idle and 5-7 on load.

More importantly, use align the fan so that it will be pulling in air from the front of the case, not the top, since it uses sleeve bearing fans, which will degrade faster if facing the top of the case. This is also better if you are using a push/pull configuration.

Ok thanks, I just put a blob directly in the middle of the CPU and none on the heatsink. I'll reseat it this weekend hopefully and come back with results .
