Who else is experiencing extreme heat from this chip?
I have a pretty decent watercooling system (TFX 360, BLack ICe 120, Magicool 280 for CPU + mobo only), and my i5 would always stay at nice temperatures, even when handling extreme voltages (something like 1,5-1,6).
Now this one goes as far al 89 degrees C when I give it a voltage around 1,53 and HT on.
This is my first i7 with HT so I don't know if its normal or if I should check the mounting of the CPU block or anything.

It's normal. HT tends to add a lot of heat.

Ouch! You're pushing 1.53v through an i7 8xx. Expect a very hot chip when you do that.

I should have expexted that answer

It was meant more like: my i5 would only get 60 degrees with this kind a voltage, and this on hits 87 sometimes, so thats 27 degrees just from HT on.
I figured my wc-set would take much of the 'blow' but I guess it doesn't.

Posting some OC results, for the ones who are interested:

@SandersAce

Not bad

These 1156 i7 chip seems to get very hot, I quess you have to go with dice or ln2 if you want to go higher

What´s the highest you can go with 4/8 and pass LinX or/and y-cruncher stresstest?
