bf:bc2 artifacts

Thread Starter
I looked about and found this is/was an issue with BF:BC2 but couldn't find much recent/10.5 problems. I just got my msi 5770 and i see artifacts, little staticy squares every once in a while. It looked like a special effect.. Here's a video of what i'm getting: YouTube- BFBC2.wmv
Is this my card or the game? I'm using cat 10.5. I wanna be sure before i decide to keep the card.

I ran it in furmark maxing everything i find and it doesn't have a problem. Ran it until it reached max temp an a little after.

i've gotten that on my 5850. Try running the fan speed a little higher, perhaps 35%

First of all, are you overclocking? Cause you should be. A good 900/1400 should be nice. And make sure the fan is set to 100% at ALL TIMES. Works better that way. Then, test for Artifacts using FUR or ATITool

Reason for the fan.

I had my single 5770 overclocked, with fan on auto. I got no artifacts in anything, save for BC2. Sometimes it crashed. Turning the fan to 100% fixed that.

Not OC'ed at all. My 5770 doesn't even get to 70* so it's not overheating. Furmark doesn't show any artifacts, i'll try ati tools.

Still, try the fan trick. IT WORKS! I know it's odd, but it works.

I get those little squares also when I play BC:2. I have a 5870. Should I also put the fan speed up to 100% aswell?
