"Chaotic Rage!" - A game coded by some mates and I.

Me and my mates have been busy over the last few months (Thus why I haven't been here in a long time), coding a game called Chaotic Rage!

It has been coded in C++ using SDL Libraries, and is cross-platform coded for Windows & Linux (Mac still to come)...

It features fully-destructable environments, network play, day/night levels, multiple weapons, and much more!

(We've currently stopped coding the game, and will be re-coding the whole game in c++ with a new graphics engine, and it will be much improved.)

Anyway, the website is here: http://chaoticrage.com/

Have a look, and enjoy

Wicked. Enjoy...

The online servers have been pulled down (I think, unless josh is still hosting it) so for now you'll have to host your own and get people to join

Hahahaha... Josh (The guy who set that all up) is a pretty funny guy like that. It's completely open source.

Alright, from playing for 3 seconds a few things: It feels like VSYNC is automatically enabled... No pls. Change the controls so it's not based on the location of the mouse. Keep it aiming at the mouse, but make it so he moves up for W, left for A, etc... The current setup is very counter-intuitive.

As I said, we've stopped coding and will be re-scripting the entire game with a new engine. We actually had a frame limiter *facepalm* on that... that's why it's choppy. The new release will not have a frame limiter, thank god xD

Of course it is purist open-source, so you can feel free to change the chop if you want...

Just checkout the repo, do your hacks and commit. Don't even ask to do it, just do it!

So I have just released a new version of Chaotic Rage.

And I just realised that the windows version does not have music - ill fix that soon.

Other than that, have fun.

Controls:
W A S D - Movement
Mouse - Look
Left-click - Fire
Right-click - Weapon menu

There are more maps available, but no code for offering a way to choose the one you want to play. It can be set my changing the client config file (server config file for changing the map for network games). This is something that will become a GUI option eventually, although I don't give much time to this version of CR any-more because all of my efforts are going into the new engine, which is much much better than this one.

Of course it's open-source, the whole thing, so ill keep hosting it on my server if people keep playing and contributing.
