Hard Disk not detected! on startup

Thread Starter
Hey, I'm getting this message come up when I boot up, it comes up and goes off the screen in a few seconds and continues to boot into windows, so it's not actually stopping me do anything but it shouln't be there.

I have looked in the BIOS and it has something like:

Sata 1 - not detectable
Sata 2 - not detectable
Sata 3 - Samsung hdd
Sata 4 - CD-Rom
Sata 5 - not detectable

I assume because my hdd isn't plugged into Sata slot 1 it's trying to access slot 1 and 2 first and this is why i'm getting the message?

Or is there another reason?

It sounds like that's the case. Have you checked to make sure your Samsung drive is set to boot up first in the BIOS?

Go into the BIOS and see if they are all listed there.
What's probably happening is the drive isn't ready by the time it gets to that part of the POST that you are seeing..

It is listed there, under Sata 3 - Sata 1 & 2 are not detected ( but there is only 1 hdd installed anyway ) it doesn't effect anything so I'm not to bothered by it.

Actually I was wondering that same thing! I get the same message at bootup, and like you, it doesn't effect anything, odd.

Maybe nitpicking, but it's just a minor annoyance just knowing is says that, ya'know ?
