That is a question that can not be answered very well as the two processors process functions differently.

If you game and she does multi-media encoding one can not easily compare and your system is better for you and hers is better for her.

Lets hope this thread doesn't turn into a fanboy war!! Like Ropey said it all depends on what you're going to be doing with it. They both have their advantages and disadvantages.

amd owns for anything except video encoding (intel is best at that)
