Need Help Finding a PSU

Thread Starter
I know I have posted in the past about getting a new PSU and I was about to buy my Corsair 850HX that I wanted until I looked at the dimensions. In the manual for my CM 690 II it states that if you internally mount a 240 rad on the bottom that they suggest using a PSU no longer than 150mm. So what I'm looking for is a 850W PSU that is around that length, , doesn't have to be exact, modular, and have flat cables at least for the modular cables. If anybody can suggest one off the top of their head I would appreciate it.

If I can't find one I guess I will try to mount it on the top with 2 fans instead of 4 like I planned on the bottom.

Not really...Most 850s are purchaseable...don't get me wrong though, I'm not buying a 300 dollar PSU heh

Gonna be tough. In fact, impossible. There are no "real" 850W units that I know of that are less than 150mm long. You can get some decent ~600W units less than that. The SeaSonic M12II Bronze 620W is modular and 140mm long. And that should be enough for your rig as is, I think. But 850W is probably out of the question.

Silverstone Strider plus 850
oop it's 160mm -.- The shortest I can find are 160mm.

620w is enough for Phenom II x4 955 oced, 1 hdd, 1 ssd, 1 dvd drive, 2 4890s, a fan controller, and possibly a sound card down the line?

I really wanted to use this case but its making things a lot harder than what they have to be. I just put in a motherboard and held the rad on the top to see if it would mount and it wont, its to big. *sigh* I don't know what I was thinking by going midtower. Should have gotten the HAF 932.

I can't tell which dimension is which. 5.91" = ~150mm, but 6.3" = ~160mm

The 4890s and CPU are the major power gulpers and they shouldn't top 500W peak consumption in LinX+Furmark. The rest should be under 100W.

The other thing that I'm wondering is, by doing a push pull the rad isn't against the psu, it would be the fans. The fans would provide more space between the psu and the rad due to the rad being longer than 2 120mm fans. So depending on the PSU I could have everything connected that I need and pull the cords out behind the mobo without touching anything.

Yay or nay?
