"On 6/9/10 Engadget posted an article concerning Htc EVO 4G vs. iPhone 4. In this article they posted a poll. The iPhone 4 was ahead of the EVO for a time but once the EVO started catching up Engadget deleted the article and the poll and continued to delete comments on other articles concerning the deleted article. Wrong is wrong here people. Enough is enough."

The thing you guys fail (and refuse) to recognize, is that articles on Apple products produce far more page hits for websites than any other consumer device. It's not just engadget...it's about every single tech-news website on the internet. Unfortunately for many of you, Apple is all regular people care about. And with good reason.

Want proof? Look at the Apple threads and their popularity on OCN. Every Apple thread explodes with argument and debate. Don't you think that's good exposure?

Another example? iPhone 4 is all the talk in the tech-news segment. So people are cashing in on it by posting bull**** articles about photoshopped screen captures, poor glass casings, poor reception, yada yada yada. All that generates ad revenue for these sites via increased page hits. Sites are cashing in anyway they can by riding the coattails of the next iPhone.

If you're a tech website and you're not reporting daily on the goings-on over at Cupertino, you're not going to be able to compete.

Just because you don't like their coverage, it doesn't mean they're fanboys. Read some reviews on HTC smartphones...like it or not, they give everything a fair shake.

Look at the Iphone review and then look at any other phone's review. Their standard of journalism is very biased. I wouldn't have a problem with them if they dedicated an equal amount of time and quality to other, maybe not as high profile launches. Apple being slapped on our faces all the time, there WILL be a counter culture.

There is a difference between reporting, and constantly plastering the site with anything and everything Apple, including mirroring articles.

Engadget crossed that line quite a while back.

All tech sites mirror articles more than they write it seems. It's not exclusive to Engadget. Go to any site, be it Ars, Gizmodo, Tom's, whatever. They all extensively cover Apple more than any other company, and all generally reference other sites.

I agree, Engadget has a ton of Apple news. But like I said, it's to stay afloat. I personally like the site's layout and small snippets of news info. I have the app on my iPhone and check it as much as my email.

There are still standards in journalism? lol Really, that's a problem across all news, not just Engadget or other tech sites.

But again, what are you going to dedicate more resources towards? A news story guaranteed to get hits (ie Apple), or towards a mediocre story only a small niche of people care about (ie Droid)?

Sorry if the truth hurts. More people care about Apple.

Wow... these guys are sure amazing at noticing pointless statistics. Because steam only runs on x86 macs (unless I'm mistaken) which have only ever been released as core2duos so essentially 100% of macs that aren't macmini-s will have dual core whereas PCs have been x86 since oh, 1990ish. Yes, you could boot up steam on an intel 386 with 16mb of ram if you really wanted to. It's like comparing the average of the last 30 years of PCs against the last 2 years of macs.

Idiots...

I know, people should actually read the article and even if you did post the entire thing, I bet they'd just skim over it or read a little bit of it.

The point of the article is Steam, i.e. Gaming.

Plus, GPGPU means you kind of need a reasonably good GPU at least, especially with that taking off.

So them deleting a poll after the iPhone 4G was over taken by the Evo 4G is just a coincidental server error, right?

Read the entire topic, please.

And nVidia also denied the first Fermi GPU we saw being fake, Intel says their GPUs are all we ever really need, even for gaming, and I'm sure if you asked MS they'd say that Windows 7 isn't practically just a Service Pack of Vista.

Company's, sites, etc lie to make themselves look better unless there is no way they can deny it.

And before you call me an Apple hater, I had an iPod Classic 80Gb and I'm looking at getting an iPad assuming I can find one for $200 under retail.

I don't think that's going to happen for a while, the iPad is pretty much going to have Wii like pricing for quite a while due to the hype surrounding it.

Regardless, you're right, they will do anything to make themselves looking better. However, the iPhone was always beating the EVO 4G in the polls so I don't really understand the conspiracy theorists reasoning.
