Hi guys, I have this problem with my laptop now where I am trying to format and install Windows XP SP3.

The major problem I have is the DVD/RW wont recognize any CDs or DVDs. Even if the disks are full, displays a blank disk and therefore I cant reboot Windows CD.

I have tried to uninstall and let Windows detect the DVD/RW device again which is a Matsus hita UJ-840 but didn't help at all. I have also tried to find drivers for that device and didnt manage.

Finally, I have tried with my external DVD drive to boot Windows which doesn't work once again. I get an error message in BIOS that Intel Boot Device failed. In BIOS there are not many choices and yes Optical Drive is set as a first booting device.

Please anything that will help, I am open to suggestions.

Thank you.
