someone with dual core + HD5770 + RE5?

Can you benchmark your game @ 1440x900 4XAA and everything else maxed?

I want to compare your benchmark with my setup and the reason for this is that RE5 is the only game that i got no FPS increase from whatsoever when i moved from the HD3850 to the HD5770

the rest of my 15 games are showing 70%-150% when i moved to the HD5770 except for RE5

I don't have a dual core, nor a 5770, but it sounds to me like RE5 is taking a performance hit from a dual core rather than a quad. If you were to upgrade to a quad, you probably would notice a difference from the 3850 to the 5770, but in this case it sounds like your CPU is bottlenecking the game. You have a fairly good clock speed, but if RE5 is multi threaded, a quad is more useful than a high clocked dual.

yeah i know the game gets a massive FPS increase using Q core but to get the same FPS as the HD3850?

Kind of an old topic, but, Im running it with my sig rig, dual core @ 4ghz, with my 4890 @ 995mhz, I get a solid 80-100 frames with the limiter off, and it will never drop below 58 or so. Dual core handles it just fine.

Core i3 530 Stock + HD 5770 1GB Stock (875/1250 - Factory OC'd) @ 1440x900 with 4xAA and max settings yielded 74.6 Average FPS for me in the Fixed benchmark.

Comparatively, when OC'd the 4.0Ghz and stock GPU, at the same settings it gets
720p - 98.7FPS
1680x1050 - 76.8FPS
1920x1200 - 66.6FPS (Evil)

Despite the age of the topic, I hope this helps.

Can't bench mark for you because I don't have my old dual core setup anymore. When I used to have it I remember getting a huge jump in performance when I went from a 9500GT to a GTX260. I was able to run 1680x1050 rather than 1024x768 on the old 9500gt. Everything maxed too.

That was on a e5200 @2.5ghz, 4gigs ddr2 667.

Yes but i saw many benchmarks showing that the biggest performance jump for this game is going from 2 to 3 cores and an extra 10% with 4 cores, i know now that the problem is with my dual core setup

@ 1280x1024 2xAA and everything maxxed, I get constant 100-120 during gameplay.

I can the benchmark utility if you want.

A (fast and fat 6mb cache) dual core is more than enough for RE5 and any other game, really.

now this is unexpected, i understand the game is 3/4 cores optimized but i never thought of it as a cache hungry game, all the benchmarks showed that -any- dual core lags a lot behind a 3 or 4 cores system..

and what benchmark you used? the fixed or gameplay benchmark?
