Dual 5850s. I believe at the time these were OC'ed at 850/1200

Edit: These were Diamond 5850s flashed with 5870 bios at 850/1200. 8P Hope this helps.

You can just flash it back to the original bios if you back it up. There's no way for them to know it was flashed if you get it back to stock.

That's as long as the card is not completely dead. I don't know if or how they'd check the bios on the GPU if it was completely dead though.

Check this thread:

http://www.overclock.net/ati-drivers...-card-dos.html

Using atiflash from DOS is the best way. You can boot from a USB drive to do it. Only way to be 100% safe though is to make sure the bios you get will work on your card. If not, in most cases you can go back to a backup from dos as well since no video drivers are loaded at that point.

Edit: this is a little more up to date: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/24...dding-flashing

Yea, that guide is good.

If you have a reference card, any reference bios should work. If it is not reference, I wouldn't risk using another bios. Once you stray from reference, each manufacturer makes its own bios for its PCB.

err, my card is the one with the fan in the middle of the card from xfx meaning its non-reference right? so i shouldn't change my bios? :/

I wouldn't recommend it. Most likely there are changes done to the bios unique to XFX and it probably won't function well with any other bios.

If it's this one, don't do it:

This one is reference, I'd say do it on this:
