Windows 7 Backup Taking Massive Amounts of Space

Thread Starter
I have a 1TB HDD setup and I use it to automatically backup my data once a week, now there's only 42/931GB available. This is ridiculous as it seems instead of overwriting the previous data it is adding multiple copies of the same data. How can I change this?

Reformat your 1tb, go into disk manager and make sure you are getting the most space possible from it. restart your backup but choose the files you want to back up yourself.
My documents, pictures, important programs, etc.. you also might want to create a folder and put important data and such in that and select it to be backed up. This way win 7 wont be putting useless junk in your backup. Either way its still going to be slightly larger than the amount of actual information you have backed up.
