Thanks for that. Now I realize it's 16:9 while the 2209wa is 1680x1050. Is that a big difference? The only thing that concerns me is the tinting issues on the U2311h, but the U2311h is newer so it has to be better right?

Makes me a little put off from the U2311h with this new information. Thanks.
Display port is also the only reason eyefinity works atm. So I'd say it's a good port to have rather than a second HDMI.

The big deal between 16:9 and 16:10 is 16:9 often has less pixels. However, 1920*1080 has more vertical and horizontal pixels than 1680*1050, so for me, it's definitely the superior.

Putting it that way you're right. More pixels, another inch in size, and DisplayPort. Looks like we've found which monitor is the winner in this case.

ATI could have implemented Eyefinity with 3 DVI/HDMI ports. However, those choose to include DisplayPort so TMDS/DP structure is set below:

There was an interview a while back (you can search it if you want, I don't have a link) that due to the fact that eyefinity had such a small team working on it, they didn't have the time/funds/manpower to get non-display port eyefinity to work. Only other way I suppose, would be to do what nVidia will supposedly do, and have required CF to do eyefinity.

It's a hardware limitation and not a driver issue.

I know. I didn't say it wasn't. Implementing a 3rd RAMDAC wasn't feasible with the team they had. According to them at least.

I just noticed there is a U2211H by Dell. How does this stack up to the U2311H? Same panel? Is the size that much of a difference? Anyone know where I can see a side by side comparison pic?

EDIT: looks like I solved my own question - http://www.displaywars.com/22-inch-16x9-vs-23-inch-16x9

Another concern I've come across. Has anyone experienced a buzzing noise on their Dell monitors? I've heard it's on the 2209wa, U2211H, and U2311H. Anyone?
U2211H should be similar to the U2311H, but 1" smaller.

As for buzzing, I own none of those dell monitors, but between what me, friends, and family own, I've gotten to use quite a few dell monitors of all different panel types, never once heard buzzing.
