Well all the electricity in a house (and even the whole neighborhood) is technically a single circuit. Splitting a single mains connection into several circuits in parallel doesn't isolate them from each other.

My bet is that it's their A/Cs, because they don't have central air. Once in a while the shaking gets a jolt really quick and then either gets better or worse, so that kind of fits it since they have a couple of window units.

There's also another problem with the electricity in the house, where if there's a large power draw the voltage drops. When I was using the drill to put up shelving in a closet it would dim the lights every time it ran at full speed. I asked the landlord today to call up the power company to have them replace the mains cable, it might be too small of a gauge to handle all this equipment.

Either way, the only time I could get the shaking to stop is when bringing the refresh rate up to 160Hz. But that only works at low resolutions . Using a voltage regulator also helps it a little bit, but not enough to make it comfortable.
