really close to get 480's SLI buuut im afraid if the temps will destroy all existence or not :O

i'm using 5850 CF right now and my idle temps are 40 for second gpu and 60 for top gpu and max temps in crysis is around 70c for both cards.

what can i expect with 480's ? wont have liquid cooling lol

also can the heat hurt my mobo or anything?

my only other choice is CF 5870 if you guys suggest i cant handle the heat..

I dont know as far as the 480s but my single 470 is idling about ~45 with fan with fan speed right around 45 (no louder than my other GT-15s running at full speed)

When i stress test it, it gets up to around 78-80 after a bit of near full load, the full load doesnt seem to cause my case temps or cpu temp to go up but if i put my hand behind the back of the case i can feel some pretty warm air coming out the back of the video card (its venting well). Also note if noise is an annoyance to you, at 80% fan speed which is what i have mine set to run at when it starts to get warmer it can get pretty loud.

I wouldnt really hesitate to run another 470 in my air cooled obsidian, hopefully i was somewhat helpful...

You can handle the heat just manually adjust the fan speeds. With the fan speeds at 100% i think you can get down to 80 at full load but auto will have you around 93 at full load(furmark).

alright pulled the plug.. also saw the "GeForce GTX 480 Real World Temperatures & Sound @ [H]" on hardforums.. people seem to make the temps of this much worse than what it is, i thought it would go above 100c the moment you touch it lol
