Hello!

Its that time of the year again, yep that lovly time when something goes horribly wrong with your pc and you have to make a new one yep yep lol. So I want to build a AMD this time, and I was cheking prices on NewEgg, they have an atlhon 64 3700 mobil for dirt cheap!!! and then an atlhon 64 3200 for the same price, does that mean that the 3700 mobil is slower? its a laptop CPU right? can some one recomend a good cpu you know the sweet spot . I want something faster than my P4 3.0ghz, double core would be nice but i dont really need it. I have a 500 bucks, but i was hopping on geting the CPU and GPU with that money. =) thanks guys.

Dont forget you will need a mother board as well.

AMD 3700+ San Diego (Hell of an OCer) $213.00
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103539

Asus A8N-E $103.00
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131530

eVGA 6800GS $169.00 (154.00 after rebate)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130271

Total - $485.00 That leaves you $15.00 to cover the shipping.

This is just a suggestion. If you want the 3700 mobile others will have to help because I do not know alot about the 754 socket stuff.

actually if you dont need anything else, what he said would be great that 3700+ is way better than your p4, and even if you dont want to oc, the option is there.

i can't really see myself getting anything else if dual core is not a must and you won't overclock with the budget you have.

well unless you have a S939 motherboard laying around, you will need to get one. top of the line for Nvidia is a 7800GTX, with a 7800GT behind it.

No i dont have a motherboard but i will buy that with my tax return money , i just want to make sure i dont cut corners when it comes to my cpu or gpu. im reading alot and i think ill go for nvidia, but they have so many diferent flavors i dont know which one to get. they should make it simple and put a tag that says "this one will blow your mind more than the 7300gs" or something like that
i think ill get this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814121192 is a bit price i wanted something under 200 bucks, but it looks nice.

Thx for all the answers ill give you guys rep!

If you look in the for sale part of OC. I have a video card and CPU for sale. I could save you some money and also you would have money left over to get a new motherboard and a good down payment on some good memory

grab the 3700+ and a 7800GT if you're going to have a seperate bank roll for your motherboard. it should fit within your 500 budget.
