Yep, damn those U.S. soldiers! Those bastards are, like, sacrificing their lives so that the mainland doesn't have to get bombed and stuff! Stupid, evil murderers of innocents.

*edit* Just realized that the comment most likely applied to killing Japanese civilians in which case....have you ever, ever taken even a cursory look at that whole conflict?

Problem is though they wouldn't have to sacrifice anything if it wasn't for the fake wars on engineered conflicts.

I was pretty sure, depending on temp, it was anywhere from ~748-761. Depending on a couple environmental variables of course.
Wiki (quoting the jumper) states he hit 9/10 the speed of sound and only got up to 614 MPH and -70C. Also, other sources (books) state him hitting 714 MPHand breaking the sound barrier because of the cold. About -25C would have the speed of sound below 707 MPH and the colder it gets, the slower it goes. Still, anybody ever expect to hit 614 MPH without any sort of engine or rocket? Sky divers go what? 125 MPH? What a bunch of wusses!

Did you really just respond to people talking about WWII with that?

Oddly enough I think that response is technically correct for WWII.

I was only responding to the bolded statement, I forgot to exclude the rest of the statement but it definitely holds true to current day.

Please keep your feelings and comments about war and it's ethics to yourself, this thread is simply about military weapons and the development of such weapons. Don't need the thread closed after only being up for a day.

I actually like the Microwave gun they have that makes people feel like they're skin is on fire.. haha I can't help but think of Duke Nukem 3D and it's expansion though.
