Backup 360 saves games?

Thread Starter
So I'm trying to sell my 360. I know I can 'upload' my account to M-soft's servers, and that will take care of my Tag and gamerscore/achievements, not that I care about those, but it seems like the only way to back up my save games is to pay through the nose ($50 wth) for one of M-soft's useless little 512mb 'memory cards' (essentially a flash drive with a proprietary connector).

Since I have no desire to be robbed blind, how can I backup my saves WITHOUT spending any money and WITHOUT voiding my warranty?

I don't care if I can't use these saves on another profile, that's not what I'm after. I just want to keep ahold of these saves for later use on my profile on friend's consoles or a possible future replacement 360.

Use a flash drive (not all games allow this, as it's upto the developer), in the memory settings, there should be an option for "transfer," and that is where you may transfer all of your stuff from one storage device to another.

They damn well better have.

I plugged in my 1.5Tb external HDD and the 360 listed it under memory devices as an 'unknown device'.

I tried a 2Gb flash drive and formatted it accordingly for the 360, but I'm guess that means I won't be able to offload what I put on the flash drive onto my computer?

Not after modding or editing, just want to back them up, and keep them after removing them from the 360.

Anyhow, this I have now done.
