New psu (future proof)

Thread Starter
I need a new PSU that can handle my sig rig with 2 5770's as well as some overclocking down the road. I NEED it to be CHEAP. I NEED it to be listed on AMAZON. Rebates are fine I guess. I was looking at an Antec earthwatts 650 but it looks like their are cheaper now. So I am asking everyones opinion.

I have used this one SEVERAL times, great PSU and not too bad of a price for what you are getting.

*Edit* Amazon Link

Probably not as cheap as you would like though

No thats way to much. I'd like it 40-80 if possible.

Antec Truepower TP-750 Blue LED 750W PSU

Pretty much the best option for you now if you can fork out the money that is.

EDIT: Just saw your budget, will find something else.

Yeah I noticed you wanted CHEAP after I posted that one. I will see if any others I have used are around that price range.

How can one say future proof and 40-80 dollars in the same breath? I bought a 750W that didn't handle my upgrades for more than a few months, and now have a spare 1000W Zalman in my closet, that cost nearly 300 dollars when I bought it.

Best of luck to you though, I suppose our definitions of future proof aren't the same.

Hardly future proof, but it will power what you want it to and fits into your budget.

I have used these several times in builds as well. Not sure how "future proof" these really are, but you can only get so much for that price range when you want good PSU's. Good Luck!

Corsair-VX550W - $79

Corsair-TX650W - $89

This.

One of the best ~550W PSUs out there. Better than the Corsair VX550, better than anything OCZ has at this wattage range or above. Enough for two 5770s.
