$5 more - snag it

A 470 out performs a 5850, not sure about the 465. You won't have much luck SMP + GPU folding at the same time if you go ATI - by much luck I mean not at all and you'll have to choose one client or the other.

Well, the jury is still kind of out on that,as they are so new. Some can be unlocked to a 470,but that may not work for long. It's a great card though.

Stock it's more on par with a 5830, but as said you can use a BIOS flash for it and get significantly better results.
GTX 470 is between a 5850 and 5870 out of the gate.

Side Note: How bout a 2nd drive for RAID 0 in that build?

the 470 and the 5850 are pretty much neck and neck and drivers are helping the 470 more than the 5850 but if you were to flash the bios on the 465 to that of a 470 you can get some pretty good numbers. The biggest benefit would not be gaming performance but actually being able to fold with some solid PPD. My 470 gets around 14k PPD on only a slight overclock

[Edit]
If you do NOT plan to fold I would go with a 5850 since you can get one for $279.99 on newegg.

I believe it goes something like this - someone can correct me if I'm wrong. But gaming performance...

465 < 5850 < 470

i never did a RAID, do i need a special mobo, or only 2 hard drives ?

if i only need 2 hard drive and configuration, i'll give a try

Yea to that effect with everything stock. If not folding the 5850 is the best buy there though; OCs like a bear and nearly on par with a 5870 clock for clock.

No you'll be able to configure RAID 0 on your board; you just have to install raid drivers and CNTRL I into the setup before installing windows.
I'd also short stroke the bejebuz out of 'em to improve access times, but that's just me.

Do you have other drive(s) for storage? If a RAID 0 array breaks you lose everything, so just keep that in mind.
