werid problem with 655 pump....

Thread Starter
sometimes my pumps would stop pumping water or pump really slowly for some reason i dont know why.....
the first time this happen i saw little bubbles in my tubes like the waters getting really warm or something. then i touch my rad on the back of my case and i would feel that the rad is warm and that is just not normal.
so i would check to see why and the pump seems normal its on and viberates when i touch it but its just not moving water.

and to fix this i have to unplug the power to the pump and replug it and everythings back to normal the bubles go away, the rad cools down like instantly
and yeah...everything is just back to normal but then after a few days or just at random times of a day it would do it again......

anyone know why?

the only reason i know why a pump would slow down is if it is clogged up or you have too many molex connections going to your psu. (ive had the second problem)

There is an air bubble inside the pump that prevents the air from flowing, but the spinning of the impeller prevents the large air bubble from leaving. It seems as if this is the problem by you describing the little foamy bubbles. Make sure all the air is out of your loop.

i have cleaned the pump over and over again and even the water is crystal clear
about the motex problem, the pump is useing its own motex on the power supply no other fan motex is connected or anything just the pump alone
i have the fan motex and other motex's connected to other motex from the power supply ( god that is confusing)

when u turn off the pump the air bubbles settle back at the top of the pump. that could be why it works for a little bit, then fails again. does the pump get louder or sound like its just spinning?

try shaking the pump a bit when its on and see if theres more air bubbles.

Time for a new pump then. It sounds like it's on it's way out.

I'm with these guys, there shouldn't be any bubbles forming if your loop is properly bled. I'm also betting on trapped air in your pump.

this. if you keep cleaning it and have tried shaking it to dislodge or break up bubbles, then you may wanna invest in a new pump or speak with Swiftech

What is the order of your loop and could you post a pic of your setup? Easier to assist.
