Overclocking 5850 sapphire (Need Opinions)

I used to go with 850-1200(stock voltage) until recently, Then I decided to go for a higher Core clock while decreasing memroy and it lead to a 870-1175 OC on stock voltage. Benchmarking with 3D vantage I had an 3% overall improvement over my previous OC (850-1200).
Afterwards I decided to do my usual stability test with OCCT + Error Scan.Started the test and in a 30min OCCT GPU test I got 3 errors while I didnt get any on my 850-1200 OC. I wanted to back it to the OLD oc but I got confused since I actually saw performance increase and no decrease, so given that obviously I hadn't pushed too hard.
I thought when we get errors we are hitting the wall and should back the clock to where I get no errors or else it will result in performance decrease.

now the question I have is : Should I stick to this new OC which gave performance increase despite getting 3 error in 30min test ??or should I stick with my old OC as I thought getting error is a bad sign and could hurt the card.
OR AM I just too picky and 3 error is actually nothing ??

Depending on the comments my OC method might change considerably as I was always too careful not to get any errors on stress test/

For me, I doubt I would notice any 3% increase in performance. If it isnt fully stable, I dont see why not to go back to your old levels.

lets revise my question : It safe to ignore Errors if they are as little as 3 or 4 ( if its really unstable it reaches 3000-15000 errors in a 30-min test) ??

or even that much error could cause problems later or even hurt the card ?? Far the sake of reaching a higher performace im saying this.

what you people suggest ??

I can't answer any of your questions but what load temps are you seeing for the gpu? Also is this a reference or non-ref card?

Its a Reference Card and one that seems to love OC.
load temps gets to 75 on OCCT Test but in games like bad company 2 _8AA x 16AF + highest setting -1600x900 never passes 65.

I haven't run OCCT on my nonref sapphire 5850 but @ 900/1225 I level out at 67C in Furmark at 70% fan speed.

Do you have a side fan blowing on the card?

I don't know whether those errors would be a problem but in my opinion I wouldn't want to risk damaging the card.

On my reference 5850 OC'ed to 850 - 1200 i idle at 50c and under load I never go higher than 62c at 50% fan speed.

OCCT beats the cr.... out of the Card.On Furmark max I get is 70.

Just reading ur thoughts eased me quite abit. Those Errors are meant to mean something after all and Not 100% Safe OC that is.
I'm actually quite a safe-zone hitter and never go over board, though tempting the OC might be but not being absolute Safe wouldn't fit my motto.I guess I'll stick to these absolute Error-free OC method since even 3 errors sounds too much.

Thank you guys for giving me your thoughts on this.
