Just bought my first pin connector card

Interesting at best buy they had a gtx465 for only 300 bucks. But all was sold up, just like the gtx470's were also.

Anyways, i just bought a PNY GTS 250 1GB GDDR3 performance edition video card for my Intel Pentium D 805 ( which i will soon will be replacing ). So now i will use my pny 9800gt for my quad which i am also replacing in a few months.

Anyways, i only paid at best buy 75 bucks clearance sale
I guess my only question, how much faster is this card compared to my pny 9800gt green edition?
Just did a fresh install of win7, so i will install the card soon. I been awake for about 20 hours now, sleeping , taking naps on and off, so i will have to install this really soon, because i have to go work in about 6 hours for another 8 hours LOL I will get more rest tomorrow, because when i get off work, i have nothing to do, but sleep

You should see a little increase. I use Tom's Hardware Hierarchy Chart which shows a little jump.

From what I have read, nvidia changed the naming convention to not cause confusion between the different series of cards. The GTS 250 is the same card as the 9800 gtx. You will see about a 15% increase in performance over the 9800 gt.

Hope this helps

Seems like yea 60+ on load, not bad, cooler than my 9800gt green edition.

Jericho runs about yea 15 - 20 % faster, not bad for 75 bucks.
Peace.

um having a slight problem. When i run crysis, dx9 all high or just run crysis altogether, framerate is nice, 40+ all the time, however the game screen will turn black and the monitor signal is blanking , but i still can hear the game, but can't see anything.
Please tell me this isn't a PSU issue, if so, i am going back to my idea to only use non power connector video cards, because i don't feel like going all out just to buy another new PSU. sigh

I am just going to buy a 5570 lol
