If those really are ferrite beads, you don't want to take them off. They help reduce electrical noise and power fluctuations.

How'd it go tipsy? I didn't know what you were talking about earlier and didn't see this thread...I've never had a PSU with them on it before. At least not to my knowledge hehe.
