Folder permission issues

So recently my user folder has been acting like a restricted folder - i.e. any file I delete or folder I create "needs administrator permission", Firefox can't save anything to it, iTunes can't open because it's a "locked folder", etc. I don't see how it got like this because I'm the only user and administrator on the computer.

So I checked the permissions and sure enough my name isn't even on the security tab. So I add it and give my account full control. Doesn't work. "Access is denied". What do I do? I can't even control my own user folder? Help here?

take ownership of the folder. single right click, properties, security, advanced, owner.

Take ownership, issue resolved

P.S if its not that then I dunno, take ownership anyway and filter down to all subfolders
