I'm an indecisive sphincter - Page 2

That's what I was thinking of getting. And I'm also gonna change my case to the HAF X and upgrade my RAM. So it may be like the VERY end of summer before I have enough. By that time the price may have gone down, as well. ...But only like $4 -__-

how much time will it take to get 300$?
Probably not long. A paycheck or two. >.>

I just found out what folding is, and I think I want to get into that. Would it be better to stick with Nvidia for folding? Or can I still get an ATI 5770/5850 and use my 9800 GT for PhysX? How do you do that, btw? >_<

Well I'll give you some upgrade advice. You'd do better with a new CPU cooler over a new case.

If you're wanting to upgrade to an ATI card, the 5770, 4890 or 5850 are the best choices with the 5770 being the best bang for the buck at the moment.

The Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB drives would be faster and are generally cheaper than your current drives as well for a RAID array.

Yes you can use an ATI graphics card for rendering and the nVidia card for PhysX. However, after taking a look at your full system, i'll give you my best piece of advise. Save your money and just wait. In about 6 months, AMD will release the next generation CPU and next socket. It would be so much easier to build a new rig

O_O Where'd you find the info about AMD releasing it's new CPU in 6 months!? O_O

Must read!

And I miiiiiiiiiiiiiiight wait, but really what I was going to do was upgrade other parts and wait specifically for the CPU. And then I'd upgrade that and the mobo!

Here you go.

Note: At this point, we don't have an exact date of release. Certainly not enough to say 6 months. Sometime in 2011, certainly.

I'm pretty sure it will be 8-12 months, I think they said Q3 (3rd marketing quarter of the year) And were just entering Q3 atm I believe.

Damn...they pushed it back? Last I read said Q1 2011 would be the release. I just can't wait because they are supposed to have an IMC that supports dual, triple and quad channel RAM. Also, the first ones released will be AM3 Socket and the next ones will be the next socked dubbed G34.

I'm guessing that bulldozer will be a fusion of a CPU and a GPU. Interesting.

Hopefully the bulldozers will level the playing field between amd and intel performance wise and still be cheaper!
