I'm an indecisive sphincter - Page 3

Talking about a thread hi-jack...

Oh, and the title, I thought it would be something funny about he started to pee his pants and then stopped, then kinda wetted his pants, then kinda didn't

lol, you really should look into more descriptive thread naming. And IMHO AMD is the best value at the moment but I personally went with NVIDIA for tessellation and some of the other DX11 goodies it really excels with not to mention the amazing AA performance.

If there were any motherboards for the next few sockets that could have Crossfire AND SLI or just SLI, I might stay with Nvidia since I already have a 9800 GT. If there isn't though, or it's not a good one, I may just go with ATI and use my 9800 GT for PhysX.

And it's cool if they hi-jack the thread. They answered the question and it entertains me. d(^-^)b

I do the same with my 5850/8800, best of both worlds, you will not regret it, plus you get a use for the old card.

I like this idea. Mostly because I'm a cheap-ass tightwad. Who can somehow still muster enough strength to buy expensive computer parts. It hurts though, to spend that much. I think I have internal bleeding because of it.

They don't drop in price. I believe since they got released, they kept increasing in price, simply cause they were completely superior to anything nvidia had, and had a 100% DX11 market share. When I bought my 5850 just over a month ago it was $320. Now the same card goes for $336.

At the moment yes, fermi cards RUN smoother with tessellation on than what ATI offers at the moment, but this is only valuable if you play games that are out with tesselation (dirt2, stalker COP, etc.). as for AA, at the higher resolutions (1900x1200+) fermi cards win but not by much.

benchmarking wise, FOLDING, they are better as well.

reduced power consumption, and price performance ratio ATI wins.

Stay the course...do not be tempted by the evil ones in red

Nah, grab an ATI card...they're great for the price at the moment and if you play any games with Physx, keep that 9800.
