the bios might be throttling the pump somewhat thinking its a fan.
I used to have the pump plugged in to the CPU_FAN header and for cable management, I moved it to SYS_FAN1 and put my ultra kaze on CPU_Fan when I was doing some cable management. I think the ultra is sapping too much current, I'll probably move it back to the molex connector and give the pump back to CPU_FAN.

Back on the cpu voltage though, I get nothing but crashes with less than 1.41V under stress testing at 4GHz. Normal daily stuff, I seldom see the voltage top 1.38V. LLC actually has helped my temperatures a lot, so I've done most of my stable clocks with it on.

The 4.1 and 4.2 clocks, the only things I changed were increasing VDIMM to 1.55V due to the corresponding increase in ram frequency and then increasing Vcore to 1.376 (~1.43V under stress). This produced temps around the 83-90C range during the 10 high IBT passes (and after looking at my radiator, I know why now). I think if I get my temperature down to 85C max, it should pass no problem. I might need some NB cooling too.

I tried backing the QPI down to a 16X multiplier, but that didn't change anything other than lowering my estimated GFLOPs numbers. So 18X is where I am at on that.

thanks for those - i'll give them a try when i get a chance.....

thats the only tihng that i think this mobo doesnt have is the qpi multiplyer.......
but if the setting im thinking of is - it has only 2 options
hmm - my vtt is massive then.....1.33v atm

1.33 isn't that bad. I'm considering pushing past 1.345 (maybe ~1.352) on my 4.2 clock to see if that gives me the stability I need while keeping Vcore at ~1.365. After cleaning my rad, I am basically at the point where I am going to have to do odd things to get it higher.

As far as the qpi multi, I believe EVGA gives it as the ratio rather than the multiplier like MSI does. Same difference though. My MSI board only has 16 or 18x as the selections, so I believe you are looking at the same thing I have with different terminology.

I just looked at the manual for the FTW and it was badly lacking in anything descriptive for the cpu frequency control menu. I'll hazard a guess and say those numbers are the ratios (could be very wrong here). When you change between them, do you see an adjusted QPI link speed?

pretty sure it changes the qpi link (CPU tab of CPU-z)
i have no idea how to change the NB speed though (memory tab of cpu-z) - mines @ ~3.6ghz atm

At ~191bclk on 18x, I see about 3.5GHz on my NB, so I think we are talking about the same thing.

The QPI ratio sets the NB clock if I am reading what my board is telling me correctly.

That's exactly what it is. 16x = 4.270 GT/s, 18x = 4.800 GT/s.

Quick update on my 4.1 quest that may help both of you. I finally got 4.1 stable. It was just thinking in a different direction that pulled it off. I lowered my vcore a notch while upping VTT and lowering PLL and upping PCH. Ended up with much better temperatures and a stable clock. Please excuse the 186/197x9.0 clock rate, the system had returned to idle before I could get the shot in the first pic. In the third pic is the correct 4.1 speed. Let me know if you want any other settings I am using.
