$110 dollar mistake.

Thread Starter
Ok So i got this old laptop that my sister dosnt need any more because she got a new one. As usuall i opened it up to clean it and ETC. Now before i closed it i turned it on to see if it was all functional. It was working untill i accidentally pulled off the videocard. Now the thing has no signs of life, No sign or anything that might have burned out. The only thing telling me that is not working is my AC adaptor that has a sensor that beeps when something is wrong..

Yea... pulling off videocards soldiered to the mobo is a nono. You broke it.

I doubt you can fix but it maybe you can try soldiering it back on to the mobo? if its already broken you can't break it more.

Notebook video cards are kinda different from desktop video cards, they are part of the notebook itself...haven't heard of anyone baking an entire notebook before. Like the smell of burnt chips in the morning KG?

Well this is a Insperon with a ATi video card. So its connect to the MoBo via a Connector.
So i didnt break and solders. How ever on closer Analise i found that there is on chip that heats up alot every time i pump voltage into the Mobo. Maybe thats whats broken. If i replace it i hope it might fix the problem i just need to find another one online.

I know on my Dell laptop you can swap CPUs while it's in standby and there will be no affects!

I was testing a CPU I had for sale. I thought the laptop was off. Got the CPU back in, opened the lid and saw the light blinking.

The laptop and CPU are still going strong haha
