I need a new room setup, just painted.

Thread Starter
I'm sick of my setup to the point where I don't even like being around it. I just painted the room back in Feb. so I want to do something to get a nicer looking setup. Yet, I can't think of nothing to do to get it that way.

Anyone got any ideas on what I could do? Seperate work area from personal area or what? I did think about putting a desk where the TV is at, but that window overlooks the driveway and well, it's not very pleasant to me.

So, what would you do to this room if you didn't have a lot of cash? Also, this is my mom's house so try and keep ideas somewhat less extreme or something.

Your room is like a maze!!!

Firstly, it looks like you need to learn some wiring techniques. LOL! Maybe clean up your room so you can envision new layouts more easily.

Given that you've only shown three walls, I would either

A.) Move the bed to the back left or right corner. Move the desk to where the bed was previously located. Keep the TV and crap in position. Remove the Foosball table(sorry...I've never seen anyone with one in their bedroom. They make excellent additions to basements or game rooms, though. ). If you really need something in that blank corner, go for a bookshelf and a nice chair. Search Craigslist for furniture.

B.) Move the bed inside the little part where the TV is positioned. Move the TV and crap to the back left corner(will provide the best lighting and sound quality anyhow ). Move the desk towards the front of the room. And same thing earlier for the Foosball table. Only you won't really need filler pieces this way.

The foosball table isn't mine. I keep taking pictures in hopes my mom will sell it, but meh. If only the barn was cleaned enough to throw in it. No one ever uses it. We'll get it sold soon enough.

The shelving area in the second pic was built by us and it does serve some purpose if I ever get the stuff organized on it. And I have had the bed where the TV was before, but it got way to hot over there for me to stand it so I moved it back. But now that I have curtains up I may try it there again as the TV would look good over in the far corner with not so much light.

The desk/computers/rack where the bed is does sound like a nice idea, but then I'd need to figure out what to do to run the cable from the far corner where it's at now all the way over to the bed area. Though, I guess I could just stuff under the baseboard and carpet to hide it.

Anyone think I could sell that glass L-desk I have currently? It's falling apart and is way to shaky for my liking. Maybe sell it and get a new wooden l-desk or something big enough to hold everything. Then put it where the bed is at.

I was also thinking of leaving the TV where it's at, put the bed in the FAR corner where the desk is now and then building a U-shaped desk and put right in the middle of the room where I can see TV from the desk to lol. Seeing how I rarely even use the bed except for sleeping lol.

Whatever you decide to do, remember two things:
1. Check Craigslist for furniture at great prices.
2. You can always control the temperature with heaters or fans.

A "u-desk" would be fun, though. like a big boob in your room, LOL!

Bed pushed in corner, desk in opposite corner with monitors against wall and foosball by shelves or in that little cutout by the window

Maximizes space and will help with glare

Put the television between and later get a couch to put in front of tv

I like it, but I'll never have my back against the door, ever. And there's a closet on the wall beside the bed. Maybe have it facing the wall and make like a u-shape with the desk and wall?
