how to remove this 6600gt heatsink

hey guys im trying to remove this heat sink but i cant, there are the black little rivet things but when you squeeze them they still dont make it through the hole in the pcb. here is some pics someone pleaze help thanks

You are doing right, just not enough.

A pair of needle nose pliers should do the trick by getting the barbs compressed and just inside the hole, then use a flat and hard surface to push it the rest of the way out.

They can be a serious PITA at times.

[edit] You may need to press on the barb on the front side to relieve some of the tension prior to squeezing the 2 prongs together on the backside.

Omg I hate those kind of pushpins lol

They take a lot of effort to remove. Be sure to squeeze hard on the back of the pushpin
