pump overheating, smoked

Thread Starter

I went home, turned on my PC for 30 mins, then I smelled something. when I looked at my PC, I see smoke rising under the pump, I thought "****, its leaking" i immediately turned off my PC. open the window and put a small fan to exhaust the smoke out lol. I went back and checked, there were no leaking. I took the loop out, there and behold a burned mark under the pump. now I have to get a new pump. will be living without my gaming/everyday work PC for a week. pic below

Hm... MCP355 huh!?!

I guess it's the loop problem. How your loop goes?
Try... Res => Pump => Waterblocks => Rad

This way the pump would have all the coolaint needed & it's being cooled off before running back into the waterblocks.
