If you've tried 5 coolers I assume you've checked everything in between. I just don't get it..

Is the thermal compound spreading thin and evenly? Would be weird to see a rare case of a seriously jacked up heatspreader! I lapped mine.

Hello im his cousin.

We have reaseated all the coolers multiple times, with multiple TIM(as5,Shintsu,coolermaster)

I intalled his new cpu in my new board with my h50(applied TIM same procedure as i did with my 1055t that was loading at 40C) and he had similar temps that he has now just a few degrees cooler.

I dont understand it at all, one thought is do the 8xx series chipsets run 955's hot?
again just looking for ideas.
His mobo: ASUS M4A87TD EVO AM3

Judging by the 1.27V vcore in the screenshot the temps should definitely be lower. No doubt about that.

Dont spend your money on, lets say, low end coolers. Thats what I did before too, same disappointment. After I bought the HEATKILLER 3.0(copper) and the GTX360 , things changed. That H50 is garbage compared to what I have now.
I upload a pic. just to see the difference
I was able to OC this CPU @ 4230MHz

955-C3 @ 4050MHZ @ 1.55V(set BIOS)...1.56V(idle)...1.60-1.61V(load)...LLC-enabled.

AMD gives max Tcase, so CPU temperature

They don't publish Tjunct max temp, but it's a good reference if your cooler is up to the task because it rises faster than Tcase, i.e. if it jumps to 70+, better cut the load. It's just a calculated number anyway and meaningless if your software doesn't know the actual max to refer to.

The thing is i'm at all stock settings. I have tried the Hyper 212+, Zalman 9500a, SilenX iXtrema, H50, and now this Hyper N520.

Also, i'm not made of money, I am very limited.

That's what I was told by my cousin. I thought it should be CPU temp that I should be paying attention to.

You're running with CnQ off and getting an idle temp of 46C. Believe it or not that is exactly where I'm sitting right now, though I'm temporarily on the stock HSF. The H50 with no CnQ in push/pull would idle at about 43C with the 80F ambient in here.

Remember the PhII X4 cpus when idling at full bore according to my killowatt takes another 30 watts over the 800MHz idle speed, and figuring in the idle current of the chip even at that low voltage, I'd estimate this chip is throwing off as much heat as some low-end dual cores at full load. You'll never get that idle temp under 40C without a) a very cool ambient b) your cpu goes swimming or c) turn on CnQ.

It's the load temp that counts. Besides, when the idle temp is closer to the load temp, you get less thermal expansion of your solder joints. Something to consider
