You said 17k PPD per GTX480 at $600 and you get around 10k PPD per 9800GX2 at $150 - $175.

You would need two motherboards and CPU's and RAM but you would only need a 4x PCIE motherboard and you could get a 4x1 GB set of ram and put 2GB in each computer.

Before you quadruple post you should reread my post and see I do fold and participated in last years Chimp Challenge with 9800GX2's.

Then don't jump to conclusions and start throwing around accusations without backing them up, not a good way to make friends.

As a matter of fact you could actually get around double the PPD with 9800GX2's than with the GTX 480's if you don't mind having two rigs.

Impossible(well, impractical) in North America, at least in a residential area. Building codes say we are limited to 15A breakers. 15A * 120V = 1800W.

So you could probably do it with 2x AX 1200s or 1250W Galaxies, but you'd need to plug them in to different parts of the house

I have 30amps in my box right now. I am in a non incorporated county area though.....maybe thats why.

Correct me if my memory is not correct here, but I recall that all the 7-way boards such as the EVGA SR-2 have 7 single slot PCI-E slots. Therefore, you'd need a single-slot waterblock for the card to fit. Do they make them slim enough?

Bang for the buck you are absolutely right. But in terms of most folding power in a single unit (one case) wouldnt the 480s be best?
