[TNW] Foxconn considering shutting down some or all Mainland China factories - Page 4

I think they are either trying to scare the employees into submission, "take your pay raise and stop complaining or we'll move the plant" or its just more economically feasible in Taiwan. I'm leaning towards the first one.

Ok. I suppose you'll also be willing to pay $500 for your average motherboard to pay for the insanely high unionized factory labor rates we have here as well, right? Because I'll take the $50 motherboard from the suicide factory over the $500 American-made motherboard any day...

It's definitely cheaper (or at least was cheaper) in China than in Taiwan.

This sounds more like a good way to get people to back down on there attacks over the suicides. I smell a bluff...

There's no point in taking these stories seriously, they are the only source in the world claiming this, and it makes zero sense for Foxconn to self destruct in this manor.

I'd be happy to pay the extra cost if it was made in the USA.

That's an awful lot of people to put out of a job. That seems really extreme.

Man that'd be an awfully big extra cost. I mean I'm just saying... damn.

Exploiting cheap labor is a time bomb waiting to explode, it's unsustainable and will ultimately cause Foxconn to go out of business.

Moving back to Taiwan and focusing more on Robotics and Automation is a very good thing.
