[GI] Halo 3 has outsold PS3 exclusives combined - Page 3

Eh Halo 3's competitive multiplayer is the only thing it excels at in my opinion. The story isn't particularly that great either as for Gears of War story/multiplayer I thought in both aspects it was superior.. however Gears of War 2 is a completely different story multiplayer wise pffffft what garbage.

As for the sales I'm not totally surprised.. the game has a GIGANTIC following because of the MLG coolkids and not to mention it's been out for 3 years also God of War 3 hasn't been out long enough to rack up the sales chart yet.

In all fairness to those who don't care about halo.......

Halo popularized video gaming beyond belief... I've been playing games since I was 3 well over 19 years ago..

Halo was the point in which the "cool kids" said "HEY LOOK LETS PLAY GAMES!!!!" and even now.. a lot of people think they are "hard core gamers" when their resume of gaming consist of Halo, gears of war, gran theft auto and maybe a hand full of other 360 games..

I just did not care for the original halo, it seemed so cartoony and cheesy I just wasn't interested in playing it... and I remember something outrageous like "the suits are so hardcore if you have a stray thought you break your own arm" or some crap like that..

I'm not saying every game has to have a scientifically accurate story line.. But, at least have less plot holes than dragon ball z towards the end

If you like halo that is fine and you have a right to.. apparently a lot of people do.. but, don't think that there aren't reasons we dislike halo..

And honestly.. after in higschool back in 2007 listening to a junior talk about it every day at lunch... for the entire school year.. a dislike grew to an intense hatre.. the guy was a junior in college and he played halo with a kid who was in eight grade.. over a four year difference.. and it was all he talked about.. playing halo with a guy who was noticibly and suspiciously younger than him.. Despite the fact he had other friends he could have hung out with and other people who wanted to be his friend..

He pretty much lost every friend he had because of halo 0.o.

With that said I didn't like halo to begin with... point being.. if you don't like something.. and everyone in the world raves about it.. there is reason not to like it..

Just like i dislike apple because I think their products are mediocre.. but, people tell me "how great" they are on a daily basis against my will.

This just shows more that a game doesn't have to be amazing to sell a lot. I mean look at MW2, it's glitched out the ass yet it still sold millions. Just makes me sad when I think about where gaming is going.

Not saying Halo 3 is horrible or anything, but it definitely isn't as great as it's hyped up to be. It is miles ahead of MW2 tho, but what game isn't.

Ah I remember halo, the first one was alright (custom games were fine but everything else sucked), halo 2 just sucked all around, but halo 3 was fun to play with my cousins and such especially when we had two xboxes linked up. Other than that, online wasn't too great but one game I loved was grifball, I don't know why, but I found it pretty amusing to play with my little brother when it popped up every once in a while. But that is pretty surprising that it sold out all of them combined...

Halo storyline was terrible after the 1st one. However, playing Halo 3 with mates is a blast. Just as good as any PC gaming experience. Yes, the matchmaking system is terrible but Halo 3 is plenty of fun. I can't wait for Reach.

and the fact that Halo3 was the only half decent game to play online (that is, if you could support the hyperjumps and kids spitting in their mics yelling at how noob you are with the RPG) for quite a while.

And the fact that some people probably bought the same game a few times because of scratched disks.

And what about LANs and stuff?

I guess you get the point now...

It's like if people would come and say "ZOMG STARCRAFT OUTSOLD *insert borderline shady recent game here* HOW SURPRISING"...
actually dude halo 3 came out 2 years after the release of the xbox 360. and halo one and two came out for the original xbox. do some research because just mouthing off about **** you don't know just makes you look like a moron.

One saving feature of Halo 3 was slipscreen Live multiplayer. One account could allow upto 4 players, at once, on the same screen. Some people get headaches doing that, lol, but I love doing so with my friends.
I'm sure there are some other games that can do that, but I know the CoD series ain't it(the other game series me and most of my friends own, across vairous consoles).
Also, it's a bit slower paced, which suits me just fine

I liked Halo 3, especially the multiplayer, was more interesting to play with friends though than it was online. Even bought my own copy even though I don't have a 360 just so I can have all 3 of the games.
