Greets to all you people on this forum,
Im new here And new to AMD.

I plan on doing a new build and would like to know if this looks like a good setup so far?
and also I would like to know what power suply to get for my motherboard as it has an 8 pin conector and I would like to give it all the juice it wants.

So far this is what i have decided to purchace.

1. DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 SLI-DR Expert Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813136166

2. OCZ EL Platinum Revision 2 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model OCZ4001024ELDCPER2-K - Retail

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820146890

And on the cpu I have a question as to what is the difference in these two?
Which is better to go with? A or B

3. A) AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego 1GHz HT Socket 939 Processor Model ADA3700BNBOX - Retail

First, Welcome to the forums.
Second, here is a power supply that seems pretty popular around here and has a great price:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817709004

Third, that memory is very nice and OC's very well. I have mine running at 250MHz right now.

Fourth, processor A has E4 stepping and B has E6 stepping. Most if not all the 3700 SDs here are of the E4 varity. Go with that one. Got mine about 2 weeks ago and it can do 3.0GHz no problem.

Fifth and kind of what sccr64472 said you need a graphics card. I see your X1300 but a system like the one you are putting together deserves better. If you are an ATi guy get an 1800 or 1900 and if you want to go to Nvidia get a 7800 or even 2. Seeing your choice in mobos I would go Nvidia so you can SLi later on. No SLi with ATi unless you go cross fire and get a DFI cross fire board.

Nice setup so far amigo. Oh and get a ThermalTake Big Typhoon while you are at it. You are gonna need it.

Im not sure of which video card to go with yet, I will most likely go with nvidia to take advantage of the SLI. I have liked ATI foe a while now i got the 1300 last week when my 9800pro started over heating and artifacting bad, i tried to do some things to get it back but it didnt look promising.
all of my old system will be moved to my wifes desk all i will keep off of it is my HD and my drives

7800GT or 7800GTX unless you wait for the 7900 series. Not sure when that release is though.

Looking at your monitor description, I'd forget the SLI motherboard and save the money. Get a non SLI board and 1 better video card. Either get a 1900xt or a new Nvidia card, but don't bother with SLI. The extra you're spending on a psu, board and another card could be better spent on a faster card to begin with. Your monitor I'm assuming is much too small to warrant 2 cards.

O.K. the 7900 for a video card is a great idea, but i just cant make myself pay 500 or 700 $$$$ for a video card.
I did that when I got my ATI 9800 PRO just to see better stuff come out and make me feel bad.
So I have started looking for a cheeper vid card thats been proven road worthy, kinda looking for the bigger bang for the buck.
I was very well pleased with my 9800 so im looking for something that did as well as it did but on the nvidia front,
SO with that said has anyone out there got an economical sugestion for a vid card or a pair so I can go on the SLI ?????????
