Is she hot? (Lol) How loud does she scream? Don't have physical activity while driving, it's dangerous and you can destroy someone's property, possibly your own.

Yes, they were. Who would ave thought that a civilization that put a lot of effort into astronomy and based their calendar (a repeating cycle that has ended more than once) off of astrological events would have astrological events at important times in their calendar. In other news, scientists are say Wednesday will still come after Tuesday in leap years!

Al Gore is a media whore who tried to scare the sh.. out of us by making predictions that were way too soon, which doesn't mean that they are false. What he said will happen, but you've got to wait for it.

It's not as if this didn't happen before, the earth has been way hotter before we were here, it's just that it's coming out of an ice age way too quickly for it to be healthy for the planet.
I think that is the closest anybody has ever gotten to what I believe to be correct. Now put quotation marks around "Global Warming" because the name is stupid and probably wrong and your all set.

The world is not going to end and that article is completely sensationalized
Not too sensationalized though. They do mention IF a super massive perfect storm version of a CME comes out it could cost people lots of money because of power outages. Remember when the whole Eastern seaboard lost power? Probably be like that. Stock market goes down for a few days. Weirdos freak out. Then I get bored because the internet and cable is out and I go get drunk and build a fire in my back yard. Good news though? I might not have to go to work!

Remember everybody though, that is the WORST case scenario. That is right. The worst case scenario is a few days off work with no internet.

Pretty much. The average person on Earth likely understands very little about astrophysics, and a handful of other subjects that require some level of intelligence past what a high-school education will get you.

I guess those 6 million people effected by a solar flare blackout in Quebec in 1989 were just an over sensationalized news event. Also several times in the 90's when cell phone and electrical grid fails where linked to solar flares, and more recent GPS problems (it might not be your TomTom's fault). Hmmm. Also ask the maintenance personnel for the Alaska pipeline how solar storms keep them on their toes. I think this is very real, though it is like predicting where and when the next tornado or hurricane will strike. But if you live in "Tornado Alley" or on the coast, you prepare. Here are a few links.

Now I am not into all this gloom and doom, the world is going to end stuff, but for the past decade we have become more and more dependent on micro technology. So it only stands to reason that these solar storms will have a deeper impact on our daily lives.

I haven't had any issues and didn't know this was going on till now.

All my WiFi signals are 100% good to go. No random power outage. I'm perfectly normal. Cell phone as full bars

I'm glad there's someone who has the same view on this matter.

True, it's not that nature wants to screw with us, we allow nature to screw with us by relying more and more on fragile technology.

I was folding when that happened
This article makes it seem like 2012 will be a bad event for the world.... maybe not necessarily the end of the world, but maybe the end of electricity... or worse, computers
